What a Result!
Growler back to business away from home with a great win against Football Futures. A strong side with a younger swuad than us for a change.
The opener came courtesy of Cal Lee, who stunned the punters and himself by actually hitting the target. The Crab shot on target, and it went in. We are clearly in an alternate universe where pigs are flying and Wolves win a game of football.
Isaac doubled the lead with a moment of pure class. He danced past his full-back then unleashed a thunderbolt to the far post.
At half-time growler 2-0 up, gaffer morgan impressed by the team but as always expects more from the lads especially after we missed quite a few key chances.
The break in the second half came from a corner that caused chaos in the box and the Football Futures defender decided to help us out. A mistimed clearance turned into a perfectly placed header into his own net. We’ll take it.
Growler’s hottest striker right now, Wadams, was in the right place at the right time. Isaac’s shot was goal-bound, but Wadams made sure by nudging it over the line. Poacher’s instinct or stat-padding?
Dunny wrapped things up with a rocket that rattled the crossbar before nestling in the net. A goal so fierce, the woodwork’s still shaking. Deservedly named Man of the Match, Dunny was everywhere, except on Max's wavelength.
New signing James Dixon made his Growler debut and didn’t disappoint. Composed, confident, and already looking like a fan favourite. The lad’s got tekkers.
Another week, another collection of missed sitters. Max still hasn’t scored this season, and at this point, we’re considering putting a sat nav in the goal to help him find the back of the net.
Growler dominated from start to finish. Five goals, zero mercy, and a performance that sent a message to the rest of the league: we’re not just growling, we’re roaring.
